Using the app safely
Keep your attention on the road. Set up the app while safely parked. Automatic timers, location-based features, and audio playback may continue without manual input where supported by your device, permitted by applicable law and employer policy, and not distracting.
Safely park before entering or editing notes, using calculators, taking photos or videos, reviewing records, or responding to on-screen prompts. A passenger may handle these tasks without distracting the driver. Do not type or read messages, browse the app, or hold or reach for your device while driving. Stopping at a red light or in traffic does not mean you are safely parked.
Follow applicable federal, state, and local distracted-driving rules and your employer's policies. A mounted device, hands-free feature, or single button does not make every interaction lawful or safe. See FMCSA distracted-driving guidance for commercial drivers.
Personal records and driver tools
Journal entries, inspection checklists, timers, the Paper eLog, and disputed-alert reports support personal recordkeeping. The Paper eLog is not a company ELD or a substitute for required records, inspections, or carrier procedures. Review saved information for accuracy. Automatic status changes, calculated times, and location readings may be incomplete or inaccurate; you remain responsible for verifying your records and meeting applicable requirements.
A disputed-alert report records the driver's account of an event. It does not independently verify that a camera or vehicle warning was incorrect or determine responsibility for an incident.
Weather, truck-stop, freight-rate, safety, and news information is provided for general informational purposes. Verify conditions with official sources and use professional judgment before making driving, routing, business, or safety decisions.
Community Terms
The Community is intended for adults. Posts, replies, profile pictures, and profile bios must follow these rules. By participating, you agree to:
- Treat drivers and community members with respect.
- Not post harassment, hate speech, threats, bullying, sexual content, scams, spam, private information, illegal material, or unsafe advice.
- Post only material you have the right to share.
- Use reporting and blocking tools responsibly.
Content may be filtered, reported, hidden, or deleted. Accounts may be suspended when these terms are violated. Trucking Ray eJournal will review reports and take reasonable action, but cannot guarantee that every user submission is accurate or appropriate.
Third-party services and purchases
Links to podcasts, videos, maps, weather, stores, sponsors, and affiliates open third-party services governed by their own terms. Merchandise and coffee are physical goods purchased from the linked Shopify store. Discounts and availability may change.
Ownership
Trucking Ray eJournal, That's Delivered Podcast, and related branding and original content remain the property of their respective owner. You retain ownership of content you submit while granting Trucking Ray eJournal permission to display and moderate it as part of the Community.
Changes and termination
Features and these terms may be updated to improve the service or meet legal and store requirements. Access may be limited or ended when these terms are violated.
